According to the information shared by the Election Commission, 49.61 per cent of the voting took place till 3 pm in the four seats of Punjab.
Higher vote in Giddarbaha seat
The highest voting took place in the Giddarbaha seat. As of 3:00 p.m., 65.08 percent had voted here. 52.3 per cent of the voting took place in the Dera Baba Nanak seat. At the same time, 40.25 percent of the votes were cast in Chabbewal. Compared to Dera Baba Nanak, voting in Chabbewal seat has declined by 12 per cent. While among the four seats, the Barnala seat has had the least votes. The 40 percent vote was held at the Barnala headquarters until 3:00 p.m.
Clash at Dera Baba Nanak
On the other hand, during voting, there was a clash between Congress and Aam Aadmi Party workers at Dera Baba Nanak. Congress MP Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and Aam Aadmi Party candidate Gurdeep Singh Randhawa, who reached the spot, made serious allegations against each other. The matter reached such a point that the police deployed more than 100 police officers at the spot.
Electoral Commission call for peaceful elections
On the other hand, Punjab Chief Electoral Officer Sibin C appealed to people to vote peacefully. Additionally, the Election Commission has deployed 6,481 soldiers and officers of Punjab Police and 17 companies of Central Armed Forces for safe and peaceful voting. In addition, 3,868 election staff members have been put into service. Giving information in this regard, Sibin C said that of the four assembly constituencies for the by-elections, there are a total of 1,93,376 voters in Dera Baba Nanak assembly constituency, for whom 241 polling stations have been created. electoral. Of them, 61 are sensitive. The number of electoral staff in this area is 701.

This is how the votes will be counted
Sibin C said that counting of Dera Baba Nanak votes will be held in 18 rounds on November 23 at Sukhjindra Institute Group, Gurdaspur. While in Chabbewal (SC) assembly constituency, counting of votes will be done in 15 rounds at Riyat and Bahra Group of Institutes, Hoshiarpur. The counting of votes for the Gidderbaha Assembly will be held in 13 rounds at the Government Higher Secondary School (Boys), Gidderbaha. Counting of votes in Barnala assembly constituency will be held in 16 rounds at SD College of Education, Barnala.
