Former Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party national coordinator Arvind Kejriwal said candidates for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections will be given tickets based on their work, probability of victory and public opinion. It may be noted that elections for all 70 Delhi Assembly seats will be held in February 2025. In a meeting with AAP workers and functionaries from northwest and west Delhi, Kejriwal expressed confidence that the party will win the upcoming elections because it has walked the path of truth and has the blessings of God and the people.
Kejriwal said I will not give tickets to any family member, acquaintance or friend. There will be no nepotism. I will evaluate candidates based on their work, chances of winning and public opinion. He asked party workers to be prepared for the elections as Kejriwal is contesting for each of the 70 seats. Terming the elections as a religious war, he said the BJP is trying to win it at all costs. Referring to the free services and facilities provided by the AAP government to the people of Delhi, Kejriwal said the BJP calls them “rewari” (freebies). Yes, we offer six free daydreams that Delhiites appreciate and demand, he said, citing electricity, water, free bus rides for women, pilgrimage scheme for senior citizens and health and education facilities.
50 per cent of employees in Delhi to work from home: Gopal Rai
Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai on Wednesday announced that half of the employees in Delhi government offices will work from home in view of the deteriorating air quality situation in the national capital. Gopal Rai wrote in X, To reduce pollution, the Delhi government decided to work from home in government offices. 50 percent of government office employees will work from home. The implementation of this provision will be discussed at a meeting with officials later today. Earlier, the Delhi government had announced working hours for its offices and MCDs. The working hours of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) offices will be from 8.30 am to 5 pm and the working hours of the Government of Delhi offices have been fixed from 10 am to 6.30 pm.
