Chennai: A 26-year-old teacher was allegedly murdered on the school premises in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu. It is said that the reason for the murder was the rejection of the marriage proposal. A teacher was attacked by 30-year-old Madan at the government school in Mallipatnam this morning. He was taken to hospital with deep wounds to his neck, but died on the way. After this incident the atmosphere in the school became sad. He informed the police about the incident. After this, the woman’s relatives were also called.
The police arrested the accused
A senior officer said police have arrested Madan and are questioning him. Investigations revealed that Madan’s teacher and family had recently met to discuss his marriage, but he had rejected the marriage proposal. Following this, a frustrated Madan went to the school and allegedly attacked him with a sharp weapon.
The Minister of School Education ordered action
School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamizhi condemned the incident and ordered that immediate counseling be provided to the students. The minister, who will travel to Thanjavur, also assured that strict action will be taken against the suspect. He said we strongly condemn the attack on the teacher working at Mallipattanam Public School in Thanjavur district. Violence against teachers cannot be tolerated.
