A large number of monkeys died after ingesting a substance mixed with wheat at an FCI warehouse in Hathras district in Uttar Pradesh. Without informing the management, the FCI warehouse workers buried the corpses of these monkeys by digging a hole in the warehouse itself. When some workers of a Hindu organization came to know about this incident, they went to the FCI warehouse, created a ruckus and demanded action.
As soon as the administration received information regarding this matter, ADM Sadar, SDM Sadar, CO reached the spot along with the city police. When the warehouse employees were questioned by officials. At the same time, an employee posted as a technician at the FCI warehouse informed administrative officials about the death of 145 monkeys. And without notifying the administration, these monkeys were buried in the warehouse itself. The warehouse manager said that for the peace of the souls of the deceased monkeys, in their name he will organize the recitation of Sunderkand at the premises on Saturday.
Order to investigate the matter
Administrative officials began investigating the whole matter. Officials said the matter is being investigated and, if necessary, the place where the monkeys’ bodies were buried will also be excavated. He said if necessary, autopsies will also be performed on the monkeys. Administrative officials said there was negligence somewhere.
Action will be taken against accused employees
In this case, Rajesh Diwakar, husband of Hathras municipal council president and former MP, also reached the spot. He said there has been negligence in the matter and the department will take action against the guilty employees. He has also said that the municipality will soon take measures to capture the monkeys.
