A video of a woman dressed in royal clothes has gone viral on social media, about which users claim that this image is of Mumtaz Mahal (Arjumand Banu Begum), who was the wife of the Mughal emperor Shahjahan, in whose memory Shahjahan built the prestigious and historic Taj Mahal. Taj Mahal located in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, is a famous world heritage site.

The viral claim was proven false after an investigation by Fact Check Desk. The woman seen dressed in royal clothes in the video is not of Mumtaz Mahal but of Sultan Shahjahan Begum, the ruler of the princely state of Bhopal and the third Begum.

On August 6, a user named anshul_sharma.02 shared a viral video on social media platform ‘Instagram’ and wrote, “Look, this is Mumtaz, for whom the Taj Mahal was built. In this viral video, a woman dressed “. real clothes. It looks like it’s done. At the same time, there is also a table next to her decorated with a bouquet of flowers, near which she is standing. To find out the truth about this video that is going viral on social media, the desk first did a reverse image search of the keyframes of the video. During the investigation, we found many websites related to news and historical information, where the disputed photograph appeared as that of Sultan Shahjahan Begum of Bhopal. Continuing our research, we tried to know more about Sultan Shahjahan Begum of Bhopal.

We found this photo uploaded to the official website of the Royal Collection Trust of the United Kingdom. Let us tell you that it is one of the largest and most extensive art collections of the British rulers or royal family in the world. It includes paintings, drawings, tapestries, furniture, ceramics, clothing, carriages, weapons, armor, jewelry, watches, musical instruments, tableware, plants, manuscripts, books and sculptures.
