4pm News Network: India’s public broadcaster Prasar Bharati on Thursday (November 21) launched its own OTT platform ‘Waves’. The app is now available to download on Android and iOS devices. This platform was launched by Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant at the inaugural ceremony of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI). Where he called it an important moment for the Indian entertainment industry. According to the information received, according to a press release shared by Waves, during the launch, the Chief Minister said that ‘I am very happy to see the diversity of content in films and different languages, especially Konkani, on the platform.’ The goal is to reach a wider audience with movies, TV shows, games and live events.

- ‘Waves’ offers content in over 12 languages including Hindi, English, Marathi, Tamil and Assamese, spanning genres like infotainment, gaming, education and shopping.
- This includes 65 live TV channels, video on demand, free games and even online shopping in collaboration with ONDC.
