An 18-year-old student of class 12 studying in Navodaya Vidyalaya, Madhya Pradesh, committed suicide by hanging herself. An 18-year-old student of Navodaya Vidyalaya in Khandwa district of Madhya Pradesh allegedly hanged herself in the hostel bathroom on Thursday.

The police officer who investigated the student’s suicide said that the student had gone to her hostel on the school campus in Pandhana town to take bath around 7 am. Since she didn’t come out for a long time, her friends knocked on the door, but there was no answer. After this, some students looked into the bathroom through the fan and found the girl hanging with a cloth.

Pandhana police station in-charge Dilip Dev said the teachers and students took the student down and took her to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared her dead after the examination.

The officer said that at this stage it is not known why the Class 12 student took such a step. He said no suicide note was found at the scene. The deceased student, who was studying in stream 12 Arts, was a resident of Lakhanpur village. The officer said that after receiving information about his death, his family members reached Pandhana. The police have registered the case and investigation is ongoing.
