Prime Minister Modi is touring Guyana. He addressed a special session of Guyana’s Parliament on Thursday. In his speech, the Prime Minister said: Guyana bestowed upon me the highest honor just yesterday. I express my gratitude to all citizens of Guyana for this. Thank you very much to all the citizens here. I dedicate this honor to the citizens of India. Both India and Guyana are strengthening democracy. Democracy is in our DNA. It is very rare that you go to another country and feel the history as your own. Both India and Guyana have seen similar slavery. How many people sacrificed their lives in the fight for freedom both here and in India. We fought together to free ourselves from slavery and we achieved freedom.
Prime Minister Modi said: Today I congratulate you on behalf of 140 crore Indians. Each of your efforts to strengthen democracy in Guyana is strengthening the world. When India and Guyana gained their independence, the world faced different challenges. Today there are different challenges. Systems and institutions built after World War II are collapsing. The world is tangled in a different direction than the one it was supposed to take.
“Democracy first and humanity first” is the greatest mantra
Prime Minister Modi said that “democracy first and humanity first” is the greatest mantra for the progress of the world today. When we make this the foundation, the results are beneficial to humanity. The spirit of Democracy First teaches us to take everyone with us. The spirit of Humanity First determines the direction of our decisions. When humanity is the basis of decisions, the results also benefit humanity. The spirit of Democracy First teaches us to carry everyone, carry everyone and participate in the development of everyone.
There is no better means for global well-being than democracy.
Prime Minister Modi said that there is no better means than democracy for the well-being of the world and humanity. Democracy guarantees a bright future for citizens. This is not a law. We have shown that democracy is in our DNA. It is in our vision and behavior. When it came to uniting the world, India, during its G20 presidency, conveyed to the world the message of ‘One Earth, One Family and One Future’. Guyana’s message to the world
Prime Minister Modi gave a message to the world through Guyana’s message. He said this is not the time of conflict for the world. This is the time to identify the conditions causing the conflict and eliminate them. Today there are challenges such as terrorism, drugs and cybercrime, only by facing them can we improve the future for future generations.
We must always move away from the feeling of hoarding resources.
Prime Minister Modi said that we never move forward in an expansionist spirit. We have always stayed away from the feeling of possessing resources and usurping them. Today India is in favor of global development in every sense. India is for peace. In this spirit, today India has become the voice of the Global South.
