ECB handed over NOC to Archer after talks with BCCI

When Jofra Archer’s name was not included in the short list of players, there were reports that the England and Wales Cricket Board had withdrawn Archer’s name keeping in mind the test series against India to be held next year and other important tournaments. Now, according to ESPN Cricinfo news, after talks between the ECB and the BCCI in this regard, the ECB has given Archer an NOC to include him in the list of shortlisted players. Archer has a central contract with the England Cricket Board until September next year, so he is making decisions with his workload in mind. Archer last played a Test match in the year 2021, after which he has not been able to return in this format until now. The ECB hopes that he will be seen playing for the team in the Test series against India next year and then in the Ashes series later in the year.

Archer was part of the Mumbai Indians team last time.
