The Maharashtra Police on Thursday arrested two suspects in connection with the recognition of Congress leader and former minister Naseem Khan. According to the Mumbai Crime Branch, Naseem Khan was being spied on for the past week. On the day of voting on Wednesday, both suspects were chasing Congress leader Naseem Khan. In such a situation, the question is whether Naseem Khan is the target of any gang after Baba Siddiqui.
According to police sources, both the suspects arrived in Mumbai on November 15. One of the two had asked a Naseem Khan worker in Powai Hiranandani area about the Congress leader. After this, both of them reached Naseem Khan’s office on Thursday afternoon, where one of them interrogated Naseem Khan’s bodyguard. He expressed his desire to meet Naseem Khan. Police have arrested both suspects. One of them has a criminal record.
Abuse during meeting with Naseem Khan
According to sources, both of them were trying to communicate with Naseem Khan in a suspicious manner on Thursday. After which his workers and security personnel captured him and handed him over to the police. During this time, when he met Naseem Khan, the language in which the accused spoke to him also deepened suspicions and the accused was handed over to the police. The name of one of the arrested persons is Armaan Malik, a resident of Meerut.
FIR has been registered against Armaan Malik under section 325. This FIR is registered in Meerut, which is a case related to illegal weapons. At the same time, the police recovered a suspicious conversation with a person named Lokesh from the accused’s mobile phone. After receiving suspicious chats from the accused’s phone, the crime branch was informed if Naseem Khan was also targeted by someone like Baba Siddiqui. Police are investigating the background of the other person.
Who is Naseem Khan?
Naseem Khan is the working president of the Maharashtra Congress. Apart from being the former Home Minister of the state, he has headed many ministries. Whereas Naseem Khan is currently the Congress candidate for the Chandivali assembly seat. This seat is the traditional seat of Naseem Khan. He has won from here many times. But in 2019, he lost the election for the first time to Shiv Sena joint candidate Dilip Lande. This time he is back on the electoral list.
