When you go out on the streets of the capital Lucknow, you must have seen a group of beggars at every traffic junction. Looking at them it seems that these people will be helpless. Somehow they make a living on those roads. But there was a shocking revelation about these beggars, knowing that it will surprise you.
A survey was conducted on beggars in Lucknow. According to this survey, people of Lucknow give alms worth Rs 63 lakh every day. In this survey, it was found that there are around 5,312 beggars in the capital Lucknow. Those who live by begging. Many of these beggars earn more than 3,000 rupees a day.
The Municipal Corporation, Social Welfare and DUDA Department have made big revelations in the survey on the income of beggars. Many beggars in Lucknow earn up to Rs 3,000 daily. Women are superior to men when it comes to earning money from alms. Most of the beggars from Hardoi, Barabanki, Sitapur and Rae Bareli earn their living by begging in Lucknow.
