The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 mega auction will be held on November 24 and 25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. 574 players have been shortlisted for this mega auction. For this auction, 1,574 players had registered, but one thousand players were excluded from the final list. In any case, of the 574 preselected players, only a maximum of 204 players can be sold. This time a total of Rs 641 million remains in the purse of the 10 teams.
The final will be played that day.
Out of this mega auction came a big update regarding the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). IPL 2025 will begin on March 14 and the final match will be played on May 25. The complete IPL match schedule will be released later.
In the list of 574 players shortlisted for the IPL auction, there are 81 players whose base price is Rs 2 crore. While the base price of 27 players has remained at Rs 1.5 million. Apart from these, players with a base price of Rs 1.25, 1 crore, 75 lakh, 50 lakh, 40 lakh and 30 lakh are also included in the list.
This time, big players like Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, Mohammed Shami, Shreyas Iyer, Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal will enter the auction. All of them have also been listed for Rs 2 crore. While the list of foreign players includes stars like Glenn Maxwell, Mitchell Starc, Jos Buttler, David Warner, James Anderson, Trent Boult, Faf du Plessis.
Punjab Kings will have the highest amount of Rs 110.5 crore in the IPL auction. Punjab had retained only two players (Shashank Singh and Prabhsimran Singh) before the auction. On the other hand, Royal Challengers Bangalore has Rs 83 crore left in its purse, which is the second highest. Rajasthan Royals will have the lowest purse (Rs 41 crore) in the auction.
