Accused in police custody
Police arrested four people, including a woman, from Ramgarh Tal police station in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. It is alleged that these people were carrying out incidents of forgery and theft in the area under the pretext of Tantra-Mantra. Police investigation has revealed that a young resident of Bihar is accused of murder.
On November 19, some people disguised as beggars came to the house of Sadhna Singh, a resident of Yashodhara Kunj, in the Ramgarh police station area. Apart from begging, these people described themselves as Tantrics accomplished in Tantra Sadhana. He said that we are devotees of Mother Kamakhya and we have achieved success in Tantra-Mantra and have benefited many. You look very pretty woman. I want to make wellness for you too.
How did the accused deceive the woman?
The accused told the woman to bring a kilo of rice from her house and keep her jewelry in that rice. I will prepare a packet of rice and jewelry and recite the mantra. After that they will double. Not only this, there will be happiness and prosperity in your house. After luring the woman, the scammers kept two rings, earrings, mangalsutra, etc. in the rice. All the accused tied them in a bundle and started reciting mantras. After a while, tell the woman to close her eyes and I will give you the package. When the package is in your hands, I will recite the mantra. After that, close your eyes and go back and take it inside the house and after reaching the place of your safe, open it.
The woman did the same after being a victim of the bullies. When I took the package inside and opened it, instead of rice, a clay-like substance was seen. He started looking for his jewelry in it, but couldn’t find it. In such a situation, she came out making a noise, by then the scammers had already fled. Hearing the noise, Girija Devi, who lives in the neighborhood, also arrived and when she told him about the incident that had happened to her, she said that something similar had happened to me yesterday as well.
The accused is a native of Bihar
After this, Sadhna Singh went to Ramgarh Tal police station and complained to the police. The police had registered a case in this matter and were searching for the accused. Meanwhile, the police found four people, including a woman, begging in suspicious conditions, so they were arrested on suspicion. Upon interrogation, the accused were found to be residents of Hajipur Nadiawa village in Jehanabad, Bihar.
The names of the four accused are Paras Nat alias Lathor, Markande Nat, Pramila alias Santra and Genhari Nat. When questioned strictly by the police, Pramila said that her husband’s name was Jogi Nath. In August, Jogi Nath, along with his friend Paras Nat, murdered a youth in the village and has been on the run since then. Police are still searching for Jogi Nat, while Paras was nabbed by Gorakhpur police today.

SP City Abhinav Tyagi said that Jogi Nat is also carrying out incidents in Gorakhpur. Right now he is on the run. A team has been formed to arrest him. All the accused used to roam around the area disguised in different ways. Everyone used to pretend to beg. Seeing women alone at home, he used to cheat them and declared himself a certified tantrik of Kamakhya Devi temple and used to carry out incidents of fraud. Two mangalsutras, 27 amulets, a pair of earrings, 14 yellow metal rings, 40 white metal rings and other items were recovered from his possession.
