The Australian team was yet to recover from the shock of Khawaja’s wicket when Bumrah caused a stir by dismissing veteran Steve Smith, who came to the crease as a new batsman, on his first ball. Jasprit Bumrah has become the second bowler in the world to have achieved the great feat of dismissing Steve Smith for a golden duck in a Test. Previously, this achievement was recorded only in the name of former South African fast bowler Dale Steyn. Stan had achieved this great feat in the year 2014.
