Who will challenge Aditya Thackeray in Worli seat in Mumbai?
Political parties are continuously mulling over the selection of candidates for the assembly elections in Maharashtra. October 29 is the last date for filing nominations, but the situation regarding the selection of candidates for many seats is unclear. The Worli Assembly seat is one of the high-profile seats in Mumbai. From here, Shiv Sena (UBT) has fielded Aditya Thackeray, while Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde) is also gearing up to give a tough challenge. For this, two big names are being discussed.
Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) is working on a strategy to field Rajya Sabha MP Milind Deora to present a tough challenge to Uddhav Thackeray’s son Aditya Thackeray. There has been a serious debate in this regard in the party. In this regard, many big leaders including CM Shinde have spoken to Milind Deora and it is felt that Milind Deora should present himself as a young and strong face in front of Aditya. However, a final decision has not yet been made in this regard.
Those close to Milind Deora, heir to the powerful Deora family, have also confirmed that at the moment only discussions are taking place, the final decision will be taken by the party.
Apart from Milind, Shaina NC’s name is also being mooted on behalf of the BJP for the Worli seat. Shaina NC’s full name is Shaina Nana Chudasama and she has been very successful in the field of fashion designing. Shaina is also currently the spokesperson of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Shaina NC has been continuously meeting workers in the area for the past few days and has also started holding meetings.
However, the situation is still not clear in which quota the seat will go. But there is speculation that the Shinde faction could get this seat in the Mahayuti alliance. In such a situation, they have Milind Deora as a strong face but majority of Marathi voters decide victory in Worli seat so it is mandatory for parties to keep this in mind.
If Milind Deora does not contest the elections, then the BJP can field Shaina NC by getting her to join the Shinde group. Before this, the BJP made a total of 3 of its leaders, including 2 former MPs, join the NCP (Ajit Pawar’s faction) and got them tickets from there.
