Pakistan has been awarded the hosting rights for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. However, there is uncertainty whether it will be organized in Pakistan or not. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had clearly told the International Cricket Council (ICC) that the Indian team will not travel to Pakistan for this tournament.
A big decision will be made at the ICC meeting!
In such a situation, this tournament can be moved to another country or organized under the “hybrid model”. An emergency meeting of the ICC Board will now be held on Tuesday (November 26) to discuss and finalize the Champions Trophy. All ICC Board members including BCCI and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will attend this meeting virtually.
Excitement for the upcoming Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 is building as the Trophy Tour begins in Islamabad.

A top source aware of the developments told Aaj Tak: ‘This meeting has been called to discuss the Champions Trophy because the BCCI refused to send its team to Pakistan. We need to formalize this trophy because there is not much time left. Many things will be discussed. Like the organization of the India vs Pakistan match, groups, semi-finals and finals at neutral venues. We are moving forward with the ‘hybrid model’.
We told you that PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi had rejected the ‘hybrid model’. PCB had sought clarity from the ICC on why India does not want to go to Pakistan. India has not played cricket in Pakistan since the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks. The Champions Trophy returns to the ICC calendar for the first time since 2017.
And this could be changed to a ‘hybrid model’, where India could play all its matches at another venue, possibly in the United Arab Emirates… while the rest of the tournament would be hosted in Pakistan. Pakistan had won the last edition of the Champions Trophy held in England in 2017. This time it will host the tournament that will be held from February 19 to March 9.
