Nanded South Election Result 2024

The election from Nanded South, one of the 288 assembly seats in Maharashtra, is very interesting. In this seat, mainly Mohanrao Hambarde, Congress candidate of Mahavikas Aghadi alliance, is contesting against Anand Tidke, Shiv Sena candidate of Mahayuti alliance. In these elections, VBA’s Farooq Ahmed and Dilip Kandakurte, an independent candidate who rebelled against the BJP, will also put up a good fight. Voting for this seat took place on November 20 and vote counting will begin shortly after today.

no party dominates

The main fight is believed to be between the state’s two main alliances. In any case, the Nanded South Assembly has never been dominated by any party. People here have been making changes in almost every election. Sometimes Congress and sometimes Shiv Sena candidates have been winning from here. Since then there has been a split between the Shiv Sena and the NCP and both factions of these two parties are in the fray. That is why the elections have become more interesting.

In the 2019 elections, Mohan Rao Hambarde had to compete against independent candidate Dilip Kandakurte in the Congress ticket for this seat. Rajshree Patil was in the fray in these elections on the Shiv Sena ticket. The contest was triangular, but Mohan Rao won the election with 46,944 votes. While his closest rival Dilip came second with 43,351 votes.

The Nanded South Assembly seat, one of the Muslim-dominated areas of the state, has the highest number of Muslim voters at 24 per cent. Similarly, tribal voters here are only 2 per cent and Dalit voters around 17 per cent. 25 per cent of the voters in this assembly seat are rural. The rest are urban voters.
