The BJP has shown a lot of kindness to former Delhi minister Kailash Gehlot, who recently quit the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). It has only been a few days since he joined the party, but he is being given great responsibilities. Soon after the BJP’s victory in Maharashtra, Kailash Gehlot was appointed as a member of the important Election Coordination Committee related to the Delhi Assembly elections.
Kailash Gehlot has not only been appointed as a member of this important committee but has also been included in the committee that will draft the manifesto for the upcoming elections. The move shows that the BJP plans to deploy Gehlot in key roles, leveraging his experience and strategic skills.
In fact, until last week Kailash Gehlot was a minister in Arvind Kejriwal’s government. He not only resigned from the ministerial post but also left the AAP party. The next day, the BJP inducted him into the party with great fanfare. Kailash Gehlot also recently participated in a large BJP protest against Arvind Kejriwal, making it clear that he is now completely with the BJP.
BJP to scrap Parivartan Yatra in Delhi
Immediately after the victory in Maharashtra, the Bharatiya Janata Party set its eyes on the Delhi Assembly elections and began its preparations. The Delhi BJP has announced that it will soon scrap ‘Parivartan Yatra’, which will be an important step in changing the party’s electoral environment. The purpose of this yatra is to sensitize Delhi voters in favor of the Bharatiya Janata Party and present a tough challenge to Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party.
This time the central leadership of the party has decided to put all its strength in the Delhi elections, and Parivartan Yatra is a part of this strategy. As soon as instructions were received from the central leadership, Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva acted quickly and formed a special committee to make the yatra a success. The chairmanship of this committee has been handed over to former Delhi BJP president Satish Upadhyay. There will be a total of 9 members in the committee, who will be responsible for all the necessary planning and implementation of this yatra.
Congress and Aam Aadmi Party have already started public relations
However, at the beginning of the journey, BJP seems to be a little behind. The main reason for this is that Congress has already started the ‘Nyaya Yatra’ in Delhi. Furthermore, Arvind Kejriwal is also trying to attract voters by visiting different areas. In such a situation, the BJP will need to further strengthen its strategy in order to win the support of Delhi voters.
It remains to be seen what impact the BJP’s ‘Parivartan Yatra’ will have on Delhi politics and how successful it will be. But one thing is certain: this electoral contest will be very interesting and important.
