Dhariwal said an important feature of the NPS is that it is the lowest cost retirement plan in the market. This means that most of the client’s invested money is used to build a good long-term fund. Being linked to the market, its returns are quite good in the long term. In this, subscribers can choose the option based on their risk-taking ability.

NPS is also attractive in terms of liquidity. The subscriber can withdraw 25 percent of the fund three times if necessary. In a way, it’s like an emergency fund for subscribers. Self-employed people and salaried people can invest in NPS. NPS account can remain active with a minimum investment of Rs 1000.
