The meeting was attended by Chief Minister Nayab Saini and Vice President Harvindra Kalyan.
(Present Society) Chandigarh: Last day, Chief Minister Nayab Saini and the Assembly Speaker discussed in the meeting the appointment of the post of Chairman of the Haryana Human Rights Commission, which has been vacant for the last 14 months. But the name of the position of president could not be decided. The main reason is the absence of the opposition leader. It is necessary that the leader of the opposition be present at the meeting. Without the leader of the opposition, the position of President of the Human Rights Commission cannot be appointed. Now, unless the Congress selects the leader of the opposition, no appointment can be made to the post of Chairman of the Human Rights Commission.
It is noteworthy that after the rebuke of the High Court, the government took action regarding the anticipated appointment to the post of Chairman of the Haryana Human Rights Commission. Last day, Chief Minister Nayab Saini called an emergency meeting in this regard. At the meeting, ideas were exchanged about the names of the president and two other members of the Commission. There was a possibility that after the meeting the government would issue appointment orders to the Commission. But this could not happen.
The leader of the opposition must be present at the meeting.
After the meeting, Assembly Speaker Harvindra Kalyan said that the process is already going on for a long time and the meeting was organized for that. There has been a discussion about the chairman and members of the Haryana Human Rights Commission. No one from the opposition attended this meeting because there needs to be an opposition leader at this meeting, but so far the opposition leader has not been named. For this reason, the process can only move forward at the next meeting.
