This strategic acquisition takes its total real estate investment to Rs. 100 crore by 2024, consolidating their position as key players in the city’s real estate market. The Bachchans purchased 10 apartments in Oberoi Realty’s Eternia premium residential project, according to registration documents seen by Square Yards, an online platform for selling properties. The residential project has 3 BHK and 4 BHK apartments ready to move in. The total area of the properties is 10,216 square feet, with eight apartments of 1,049 square feet each and two apartments of 912 square feet per unit.
Abhishek Bachchan bought six of these apartments for Rs 14.77 crore, while Amitabh Bachchan bought the remaining four apartments for Rs 10.18 crore. Since 2020, the Bachchan family has become a leading force in Mumbai’s celebrity real estate scene. According to Square Yards, it bought around 0.19 million sq ft of property in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, with a total investment value of Rs 219 crore.
The Bachchan family’s recent investment in Mulund West, a central suburban area of Mumbai, marks a departure from Bollywood’s usual preference for western suburbs such as Juhu, Bandra and Goregaon. Historically, many Bollywood celebrities have preferred these western suburbs for their real estate investments.
