Veteran film actor Annu Kapoor has once again starred in the film Chak De! by Shahrukh Khan. He accused Indian producers of trying to add a community plot. The veteran actor said the makers deliberately made the lead character a Muslim.
Annu Kapoor starred in the 2007 hit film Chak De! Citing India, it was said that Shahrukh Khan’s character Kabir Khan was originally based on coach Mir Ranjan Negi, but was changed to the fictional Kabir Khan in the film.
Kapoor said, “Chak de! The main Indian character is based on a famous coach, Negi Saheb. But in India they want to show a Muslim as a good character and make fun of a pandit. This is an old thing, where they use the idea of Ganga-Jamuni tehzeeb and label it.
Aside from this, another statement of his has raised controversy. He said that his 7 Khoon Maaf co-star Priyanka Chopra did not want to kiss him on screen because he was not a conventional hero. That comment also generated controversy.
