BJP candidate defeated Chavan
In the assembly elections, Prithviraj Chavan also contested from Karad South seat. However, he also had to face defeat. BJP candidate Atul Bhosale defeated him by a margin of 39,355 votes. He said he was expected to win the Karad South seat of Satara district by 5,000 to 6,000 votes, but it did not happen. Chavan said that in the 1977 Lok Sabha elections, the Congress won 20 of 48 seats in Maharashtra, which was the lowest number. At the same time, this time the party has had its worst performance in the assembly elections so far – it is a shocking defeat.
Mahayuti’s great performance in the elections
Last Saturday, November 23, the Electoral Commission announced the results of the elections. In which Mahayuti won a spectacular victory. The BJP has done well in the elections. Voting for 288 assembly seats in the state was held on November 20. In which Mahayuti won 230 seats. In the elections, the BJP won 132 seats, Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde) 57 and NCP (Ajit Pawar) 41 seats. At the same time, the Congress-led Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) party was reduced to 46 seats. In this, Shiv Sena (Uddhav faction) won 20 seats, Congress 16 and NCP (Sharad Pawar) 10 seats. Samajwadi Party won with 2 seats.
