Describing the beginning of his career, he said: ‘I am the son of a priest. I had nothing, just the spirituality and honesty that my father had taught me. I used to do theater. I used to play the role of Sitaji in Ramleela in my childhood. My father even beat me for this. I used to say Nachaniya Banbe because, being a Brahmin in the 80s and 90s, I couldn’t understand what acting was.

Ravi Kishan said that his career is the result of 34 years of struggle. While trying to make his mark, he also worked in Telugu films, Hindi films and television. He said: ‘I had to fight and this is the result of 34 years of fighting. I have worked in the south industry, I have done Hindi films and you must have seen me on television too. I have been struggling to create my own identity. I always tried to combine naturalness and style in my acting. But I wasn’t getting the chance. Then I met Kiran Rao (director of Missing Ladies) and my luck shone… I also got the opportunity to do wonders on OTT.
