This player suffered a huge loss in the IPL mega auction and returned to the old team after 5 years.

In IPL, although teams bid a lot for their favorite players, if the player’s performance is not good, they do not take long to drop him. Not only this, players who sometimes get a high price for a coin, their salary falls from the sky to the ground after a few seasons. Now a similar situation has occurred with another player. We’re talking about Glenn Maxwell. Maxwell has been sold at auction, but his salary has been significantly reduced from last season. This time he returned to his old team, where he played 5 years ago.

Maxwell is a weak IPL player

Although Glenn Maxwell’s name is among the best players in the world, every time he comes to IPL, he can’t do anything. Maxwell, who has been playing in IPL for the past few years, has not played a single innings in IPL which can be considered memorable and has played an important role in helping his team win. Last year, RCB had signed him for Rs 11 crore, but he couldn’t play as per his price.

Maxwell cost only 4 crore and 20 lakh

This time, when his name was announced at the auction, no team bid for him for a long time. First, SRH made an offer of Rs 2 crore for him. After this, the Punjab Kings team also came forward. Later CSK also tried to lure him to their side. Although his weeding was going quite slow. That means teams were thinking about investing money wisely in him. CSK offered Rs 4 crore for him. After this, Punjab Kings offered Rs 4 crore and 20 lakh for him. CSK refused to do so.

RCB did not do RTM

After this, RCB had a chance to keep Glenn Maxwell with them under RTM, but the team did not do so. It is clear that the team must have been unhappy with the type of play he had shown for RCB. Otherwise, a player worth around Rs 4.5 million could have received RTM. If we look at it this way, due to his poor performance, Glenn Maxwell will receive less than half the salary in the upcoming IPL compared to last year.
