Following the Telangana government’s notice, the Maharashtra Excise Department canceled the permission to serve liquor at actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh’s concert in Pune’s Kothrud area on Sunday. Ahead of the concert, the Maharashtra Excise Department surprised everyone by issuing its new order. The department canceled the permission after several sources, including Chandrakant Patil, the newly elected BJP MLA from Kothrud, protested against the incident of serving liquor at the event.

The department canceled the permission after several people, including newly elected Kothrud MLA Chandrakant Patil, raised objections, PTI reported. Singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh’s Dil-Luminati tour is making headlines for this reason. Not only this, many newly elected leaders of the BJP and the NCP have also opposed the spectacle to be held in the Kothrud area of Pune. MLA Patil opposed the evening program at Kakade Farm in Kothrud. He said: ‘These programs are not part of the city’s culture. This will cause big problems for the residents of the area. This program will also cause traffic jams. Therefore, I requested the city police commissioner to cancel the program. The question is, will this concert happen?
Diljit was given a notice before the concert in Hyderabad.
Diljit Dosanjh who is currently touring India for his Dil-Luminati tour. He had received a notification from the Telangana government before his concert to be held in Hyderabad on Friday, November 15. The notice asked the Punjabi singer not to sing songs that promote drugs, alcohol or violence. This direction has come following the representation of Panditrao Dharanwar from Chandigarh, who presented as evidence a recent video of Diljit singing songs that promote drugs, alcohol and violence. The notice also warned him not to use these songs during his show.
