Ranbir Kapoor is currently the superstar of Bollywood. After making his mark with the film ‘Animal’, Ranbir is now gearing up for the film ‘Ramayana’. Currently, Ranbir has signed Bollywood films, through which he can achieve the feat that every actor hopes for.
Ranbir recently arrived at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa, where he spoke about working with director Sanjay Leela Bhansali again. He also talked about his grandfather and actor Raj Kapoor and his daughter Raha. In this conversation, Ranbir also narrated an anecdote about his wife and actress Alia Bhatt.
‘Who is Kishore Kumar?’
Ranbir said that when he met Alia, she did not know anything about Kishore Kumar. He asked me who is Kishore Kumar. To be honest, it seemed like this was just the circle of life. We need to appreciate our heritage. People forget and then a new artist comes along. That’s why I think it’s important that we remember our roots. Not just Kishore Kumar and Raj Kapoor Saheb, there are many filmmakers and artists whom we should always celebrate. And I thank IFFI that they are doing this work. Talking about Ranbir’s upcoming projects, he will soon be seen in ‘Ramayana’, ‘Love and War’, ‘Brahmastra Part 2 and 3’ and ‘Animal Park’.
‘Happy to work after 17 years’
In their conversation, Ranbir spoke about working with director Sanjay Leela Bhansali again after 17 years. He said: ‘I’m very curious. He is my godfather. Everything I’ve been told about movies, everything I know about acting, I’ve learned it all from him. So for me, working with him again after 17 years is exactly the same. I remain a fan of his work.
‘I respect him a lot. He hasn’t changed yet either, he’s still the same hardworking person. He always thinks about his movies. He just wants to talk about the character, he wants you to believe something, do something different. So I’m very curious.
‘Raj Kapoor Film Festival to be held in December’
In his conversation, Ranbir Kapoor spoke about his grandfather and legendary actor-director Raj Kapoor. Ranbir said that next month he will organize a film festival in the name of his grandfather Raj Kapoor. He said, “I have started the work of preserving his old films in collaboration with NFDC, NFAI, my uncle Kunal Kapoor and Film Heritage Foundation of India.”
‘So far we have appreciated ten of his films and we still have to appreciate more. That’s why we are organizing a film festival in his name from December 13 to 15. We will release your movies all over India. So I hope they come and see his work because there are a lot of people who haven’t seen his work.
