Bangladeshi students have taken to the streets again. Students from several universities in the capital Dhaka vandalized the government-owned Shaheed Suhrawardy College in protest against the death of a medical student. A mob of students entered the Suhrawardy College campus and vandalized 6 vehicles. After this, the crowd of protesters headed towards the Kabi Nazrul Government College, tried to attack the school, but could not enter its premises. During this time there was a confrontation between two groups, in which 30 people were injured.

Protesters also attacked the Dhaka National Medical College Hospital, where Abhijit Halder, an 18-year-old student of Dr. Mahbubur Rahman Mulla College, died due to negligence on November 18. The protesting students broke the door and windows of the hospital.

We tell you that on November 16, class 12 student Abhijeet was admitted to the hospital after suffering from dengue, where he died on November 18. On November 19, his roommates Siam and Aftab posted on Facebook that he died due to incorrect treatment at the hospital. On November 21, his friends protested in front of the hospital. During this time many university students also joined him.

On Sunday morning, students ransacked the exhibition halls around Suhrawardy College. Following this, the army was deployed around universities, hostels and places of worship in Dhaka.

Suhrawardy College principal Kakoli Mukherjee said there has been a loss of around Rs 35 crore. As a principal and teacher, I take full blame for not being able to teach basic manners to students. Although they are from different universities, they are our children after all. They celebrated by looting books, money, certificates, documents, is this the work of a student? I tried to contact the police, but they told me they were busy with the security of the National Medical College. Meanwhile they attacked here. I had no choice but to save the university.
