Delhi Police arrested a criminal associated with ‘Chhenu Gang’, known for murders, robberies and extortion. He used to arrange money for gang members. He has been identified as Partik Chhabra alias Dhanna. He has been arrested from Shastri Park area in Delhi with a country-made pistol and live cartridges.
A police officer said that accused Partik Chhabra used to get money for Sabbir alias Popa Pehalwan, a key member of ‘Chhenu Gang’. For this reason he was being watched. He used to raise money by placing illegal bets. His association with the Chhenu gang began while he was in prison under the Arms Act.
Let us tell you that Chhenu Pehalwan, the leader of Chhenu Gang, is a notorious gangster from North East Delhi. He is currently lodged in Tihar Jail under the MCOCA. Many serious cases including murder, robbery and extortion have been registered against him. His gang is mainly active in northeast Delhi. He is carrying out incidents of gambling, extortion and extortion through his henchmen.
Chhenu Pehalwan used to drive a bulletproof Fortuner
In the year 2021, during an operation, the police revealed that gang leader Chhenu used to drive a bulletproof Fortuner to avoid gang war. During this time, his special henchman Mumtaz, who used to groom new boys to supply weapons, was arrested. The Chhenu gang rose to prominence in 2011 after the gang war that started in Yamunapar.
By this time a bloody feud had begun between Abdul Nasir and the Chhenu Pehalwan gang. Both of them had become mortal enemies of each other. Meanwhile, in 2015, Chhenu was fatally shot in front of the judge during his appearance. Chhenu Pehalwan narrowly escaped this attack, but a police chief was killed. Three dozen people died in the decade-long gang war.
Police arrested a henchman of the Pasonda gang
Delhi Police arrested an absconding henchman of Pasonda gang for his involvement in several criminal cases. The accused has been identified as Azim (34). He was on the run since 2019. He was arrested in 2017 on charges of supplying illegal weapons to his associates. But he escaped after being released from jail on bail.
Police said he was hiding in Jhansi and working in a factory. Three cases of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, Sexual Harassment and Arms Act have also been registered against him in Delhi. Based on secret information, Azim has been arrested from Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh. They question him about other members of his gang in police custody.
