In the first match of the I-League, DFC lost important points in the draw against Namdhari.
Chandigarh News, Chandīgarh: DFC began their 2024-25 I-League campaign with a 0-0 draw against Namdhari FC at home. DFC dominated this close match, but despite creating several scoring opportunities, they were unable to convert.

DFC showed their intent from the opening whistle, with captain Stephen Acquah leading by example from behind. The Ghanaian defender made a vital goal-line clearance to deny Namdhari a certain goal, while goalkeeper Muansanga made a series of crucial saves to keep the hosts at bay. DFC’s attacking trio of Vinil, Hridaya and Hriyata continually created headaches for the Namdhari defense but failed to make any progress. In the second half, the home team’s players were left with 10 players, but they did not allow DFC to take the three points.

DFC substitutes including Samson Keesshing, Binong and Himanshu Jangra gave fresh impetus to the team’s attack but Namdhari’s defense remained strong. Despite the disappointment of not scoring a goal, DFC will be boosted by their impressive performance and valuable points earned away from home.

At the end of the day, DFC will be satisfied with the points, but they know they could have won the match with the number of chances they created. The DFC will continue to move forward taking the positivity out of this match. DFC’s next assignment is another overseas tour, this time to take on Inter Kashi. This match promises to be another tough test for Yan Law’s men, but they will be encouraged by their solid start to the season.
