The results of the Maharashtra elections have come to light. On the one hand, the Mahayuti alliance has secured a strong majority, while the performance of the opposition Mahavikas Aghadi has been extremely disappointing. Mahayuti has hoisted the flag of victory with 233 seats, while Mahavikas Aghadi has been reduced to 49 seats. According to Election Commission data, the Bharatiya Janata Party got 26.77 per cent votes in these elections, which is the highest. The BJP contested the elections for 149 seats, won 132 seats and polled 17,293,650 votes.

Apart from getting the highest percentage of votes, the BJP has created another record in these elections. Apart from winning 132 seats, the BJP also scored a hat-trick by crossing the 100-seat mark in the assembly elections. The BJP won 122 seats in 2014 and 105 seats in the 2019 elections.

The Congress is second in terms of obtaining percentage of votes.

Now, if we talk about the Congress, the party had contested elections for 101 seats, of which it could only win 16 seats. In the assembly elections, the Congress got 12.42 per cent votes. In this way he ranked second in percentage of votes. Congress obtained 8,020,921 votes.

Shinde got 12.38 percent of the votes

Shiv Sena, led by Eknath Shinde, contested 81 seats, of which it won 57 seats and secured 12.38 per cent votes and 7,996,930 votes.

Sharad group lost despite getting more votes than Ajit group

Interestingly, the vote share of the NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar) and the number of votes received by the party were more than that of the Ajit faction, but in the election results, the Sharad faction was defeated. The Sharad faction contested the elections for 86 seats, the party got 11.28 percent of the votes and could only win 10 seats with 72,87,797 votes. While the Ajit Pawar-led NCP won 41 out of 59 seats and recorded a vote share of 9.01% despite securing 58,16,566 votes.

Uddhav faction limited to 20 seats

On the other hand, the Uddhav group won 20 seats. Shiv Sena (UBT) got 9.96 per cent votes, while the party got a total of 6,433,013 votes. A total of 4,61,886 NOTA votes were cast in Maharashtra. Its percentage was 0.72. According to the Election Commission, 66.05 percent of votes were recorded in the state assembly elections held on November 20, compared to 61.1 percent in 2019.
