Raj Thackeray’s tension has increased after the crushing defeat in Maharashtra. There is a strong debate in political circles over the possibility of the Election Commission de-recognising Raj Thackeray’s party, the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena. According to experts, recognition can be granted if at least one seat in the assembly or 8 percent of the votes is not obtained in the assembly elections.
Amid this tension, Raj Thackeray has called a meeting of party leaders at his house today. At the meeting, the poor electoral results and other strategies can be discussed. The MNS deposit was lost in the Maharashtra elections. Raj Thackeray’s party could not win a single seat. Raj Thackeray, including his son Amit Thackeray, had fielded candidates for 125 seats, but the MNS account was not opened for even a single seat.
