FIR registered against SP MP Zia Ur Rehman and MLA’s son Suhail Iqbal in Sambhal violence
Violence broke out on Sunday over the inspection of the Shahi mosque in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh. The miscreants started a fire and threw stones at the police. Four people lost their lives in the violence and more than 30 were injured. The injured also included SDM and police officers. Police have registered an FIR at Sambhal police station regarding this incident. A case has been registered against Samajwadi Party MP Zia Ur Rehman and Suhail Iqbal, son of MLA Nawab Iqbal, for conspiring to create trouble.
After the FIR was registered, reaction from MP Zia ur Rehman also came. Murder cases should be filed against police officers when innocent people are killed. When everything was going on peacefully, what need was there to gather a crowd there and raise slogans? I will raise this issue with full force in Parliament.
Survey carried out inside the mosque by order of the court
Actually, the Hindu side claims about the Shahi Mosque that there was a Harihar temple here. The Hindu side approached the court in this regard, and the court ordered an inspection of the mosque. Zia ur Rehman said that this royal mosque is the house of Allah. Muslim brothers have been offering namaz here for years. This is not something new, this has always been happening here.
Criminals opened fire and started a fire
Following the court order, the investigation team reached Shahi Masjid at 7 am on Sunday. According to officials, the survey was carried out inside the mosque for about two hours. Meanwhile, a crowd gathered in front of the mosque and started shouting slogans. Some people in the crowd began throwing stones at the police. Soon fires began in the streets. Shots were also fired. The police then chased away the miscreants by lathicharge.
