Team India winning start in Australia, 1-0 lead in five-Test series
Australia bowed to India in the second session of the fourth day.

Chasing the huge target of winning, the host team went all out after scoring 238 runs in the second session of the fourth day. With this, team India took a 1-0 lead in the five-Test Border-Gavaskar series. When the host team took the field on the fourth day, they had to score 522 more runs to win and had lost three wickets in 12 runs.
On the fourth day, Mohammad Siraj and captain Jasprit Bumrah gave the first surprises to the host team. After which the entire team was eliminated after scoring 238 runs in 49.4 overs. For India, captain Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj took 3 wickets each, while spinner Washington Sundar picked up two wickets and fast bowlers Harshit Rana and Nitish Reddy picked up one wicket each. With this loss, the host team has fallen behind since the beginning of the series. The second match of the series will be played in Adelaide from December 6. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Virat Kohli centuries for India
After failing in the first innings, the Indian batsmen showed tremendous batting in the second innings and gave Australia an almost impossible target. India declared the second innings with 487 runs for six wickets. Thus, with a lead of 46 runs in the first innings, the team’s total lead became 533 runs. In the second innings for team India, Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 161 runs, Virat Kohli scored 100* and KL Rahul scored 77 runs.

Records of Sunil Gavaskar and K Srikanth broken
After 38 years, the initial pair of the Indian team has formed a partnership of 150 or more. Earlier, the pair of Sunil Gavaskar and K Srikanth had done this for the team in 1986. They then put on an opening 191-run partnership in Sydney. Today, breaking their 1986 record, KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal added 201 runs in the first wicket partnership.
