After almost a year, Uttarakhand police has its permanent chief. Deepam Seth, a 1995-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer, will now be the new Director General of Police (DGP) of Uttarakhand. The Uttarakhand government provided information about his appointment on Monday. Recently, Deepam Seth was working as the Managing Director of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB).
IPS Deepam Seth has held many important positions in both Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. The order of his appointment was issued by Shailesh Bagauli, secretary to Chief Minister of State Pushkar Singh Dhami.
Let us tell you that before this, Deepam Seth worked as Senior Superintendent of Police and Additional Superintendent of Police in Ghaziabad and Gautam Buddha Nagar in the undivided state of Uttar Pradesh.
Deepam Seth will replace 1996-batch IPS officer Abhinav Kumar, who was holding the additional charge of DGP. Abhinav Kumar took over as acting DGP in November last year following the retirement of former DGP Ashok Kumar.
