The situation between India and China regarding eastern Ladakh has started to normalise. Army sources have confirmed that patrols will resume in Demchok and Depsang later this month. There will be coordinated patrols to avoid clashes between Indian and Chinese soldiers. According to sources, the withdrawal process will end on October 28 and 29.

According to army sources, the new agreement will be applicable only for Depsang and Demchok and not for other places. This agreement will not apply to the buffer zone, including the banks of Pangong Lake. Troops from both sides (India and China) will return to the state before April 2020 and patrol the areas where they patrolled until April 2020.

In addition, meetings of ground commanders will be organized periodically.
Only a certain number of soldiers will be able to patrol. According to the agreement, both sides will inform each other when the patrols will be carried out to avoid misunderstandings. According to sources, several talks have been held at all levels to normalize the situation.

The disengagement process will be completed by October 28-28 and patrols will begin later this month. During this time all temporary structures such as sheds, tents and troops will be removed. Both parties will monitor the area. The patrol points in Depsang and Demchok will be the points where we traditionally patrol until April 2020.
