The state government has decided to increase penalties in cases such as copying, mass copying and paper leaking. Now, if the counterfeiting mafia is found to be involved in such a case, they may have to pay up to 10 years in jail and a fine of Rs 1 million. The Mohan Yadav government is going to amend the Madhya Pradesh Recognized Examinations Act.

Until now, in the state, if the accused was found copying or causing copying, he faced 3 years in jail and a fine of up to Rs 5,000. Now the government has prepared to modify this law. Taking note of offenses such as document leakage, mass copying and violation of exam confidentiality, the state government has decided to increase the penalties.
In which exams will it be applicable?
All examinations of Madhya Pradesh Board, MPPSC and Personnel Selection Board will come under the ambit of this law. Talking about this, officials said that in recent years, incidents of paper leakage and mass copying have increased in MP Board Vyapam and MPPSC exams. For this reason this law is being modified.

By order of the government, the Department of Education has prepared a draft law. It will be presented to the Assembly during the winter session and approved.
What will be the changes in the new law?
- In the draft it is written that if anyone leaks the document now, they will have to face life imprisonment and a fine of up to 1 million rupees.
- If the youth is found to be cheating, he or she will not be allowed to take the exam for one year. However, being a student, he will not be sent to jail.
Why was it necessary to change it?
The government believes that this strict law will increase the transparency of examinations in the state and incidents of cheating and document leaks will be curbed. In recent years, several incidents of paper leakage have been reported during the board exams of classes 10th and 12th, following which the state Board of Secondary Education took some strict measures, including 10 years in prison and a fine of up to Rs 10. laj. But even these measures did not seem to be enough. Precisely for this reason, the Mohan Yadav state government decided to make the law stricter.
