‘The police gave a 12-hour guarantee’
Lalit claimed that his personal bodyguard asked him to use the airport’s VIP exit for security reasons. Things escalated further when senior police officers told him he was on the hit list and could only be guaranteed 12 hours of security. Lalit said, “Deputy Commissioner of Police Himanshu Roy was waiting for me at the airport.” “They told me, ‘We can no longer protect you. Your life is in danger. We can only guarantee your safety for the next 12 hours.’ From there they took me to the Four Seasons hotel in Mumbai.”
