PF Balance Check: As per the Employee Provident Fund Organization rules, it is mandatory for employees earning less than Rs 15,000 to contribute to their PF account. Additionally, people earning $15,000 or more have the option to contribute to the PF account at their discretion. If your PF is also deducted, you should know that 12% of your basic income is deducted monthly as PF contribution.
However, not everyone may know where and how the 12% is deposited and where they will receive the pension after retirement. Today we will discuss this topic and also show you how you can easily check your PF balance from home. EPFO manages the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) along with the PF account.
As mentioned above, a deduction of 12% of your base salary goes to PF each month. Of the total 12%, 8.33% is allocated to the EPS account, from which you will receive the pension upon retirement. 3.67% of the balance remains deposited in your PF account. You can withdraw this money for medical emergencies, building a house, marriage, education of children, etc.
