The heat is rising in Bangladesh after the arrest of Chittagong ISKCON Pundarik Dham President Chinmoy Krishnan Das. Meanwhile, local Bangladeshi media reported that Chinmoy Prabhu was arrested for insulting Bangladesh’s national flag at a rally. According to the media, he addressed this demonstration in October.
However, following Chinmay’s arrest, large protests are taking place in Bangladesh. The army and armed forces have been deployed. People have taken to the streets in large numbers. On the other hand, the ISKCON temple side said that Chinmoy Prabhu was allegedly arrested by officers of the Dhaka Police Detective Branch at the Dhaka airport.
Chinmay has spoken out against the atrocities committed against Hindus.
Chinmay Prabhu has been raising his voice against the atrocities committed against Hindus after the fall of Sheikh Hasina’s government. The same Friday he spoke at a large protest rally in Rangpur. Due to the student movement in Bangladesh, the Hindu minority living there is in the spotlight after the fall of Sheikh Hasina’s government. Hindus and their religious places were attacked during the student movement. The ISKCON temple located in Khulna, Meherpur of Bangladesh was also attacked. Regarding this attack, Chinmoy Prabhu expressed deep concern for the security of Hindu temples. While talking to Aaj Tak, he said, “Three temples in Chittagong are in danger, but the Hindu community, along with some people from the Muslim community, have saved them so far.”

He claimed that the Hindu community is seeking help from the police and the Rapid Action Battalion in Chittagong, but has not received any response from them. Chinmoy Prabhu had said, “Many Hindus and other minorities feel insecure and flee to India via West Bengal and Tripura.”
Bangladeshi Hindus united against atrocities
Bangladeshi Hindus have united against the atrocities and protested many times. In October, thousands of Bangladeshi Hindus took to the streets of Chittagong to demand their rights and safety. Thousands of Hindus participated in this demonstration under the flag of Bangladesh Sanatan Jagran Manch and Prof. Had filed 8 demands with the interim government of Mohammad Yunus. The protesting Hindus demanded that a trial court be immediately formed for atrocities committed against minorities and that the culprits be given strict punishment. They also demanded that the victims obtain adequate compensation and rehabilitation services.
