Sanjay Raut’s appeal petition in this case was heard in the Mazgaon Sessions Court on Friday. The 30-day period granted by the Trial Court to appeal the 15-day sentence imposed on Sanjay Raut was about to end. Therefore, the appeal filed by Sanjay Raut against the sentence passed by the Trial Court was heard in the court of Additional Sessions Judge SP Pingle.

Sanjay Raut himself was not present in the court on Thursday. Medha Somaiya’s lawyer had opposed the appeal petition raising this issue. The court had on Thursday told Sanjay Raut that no one is above the law. Medha Somaiya’s lawyer had argued on Thursday that the appellant should be present during the hearing on the bail petition. Do you know what the problem is?

  • In a report published in Shiv Sena mouthpiece Saamna on April 15 and 16, 2022, Medha Somaiya was seriously accused of being involved in the scam.
  • Medha had said in the complaint that she was shocked to read this news.
  • Raut’s statements to the media are defamatory.
  • Medha also claimed that these statements were made to defame her to the general public.
  • On September 26, the trial court found Raut guilty and sentenced him to 15 days in prison, noting that the evidence showed that Medha’s complaint was true.
  • However, the court suspended Raut’s sentence for 30 days and granted him bail to challenge the verdict in court.
  • But as the 30-day period granted by the court is coming to an end, Sanjay Raut will have to apply for bail in this case today.
