75th Constitution Day: Today the country celebrates the 75th anniversary of the Constitution, the President will address a special program.

Today Constitution Day, (Aaj Samaj), New Delhi: Today the country celebrates the 75th anniversary of the approval of the Constitution. On this occasion there will be a special program at the Central Hall of the Old Parliament Complex and President Draupadi Murmu will address the joint meeting of both the Houses.

All MPs, including the Prime Minister, will be present.

Apart from Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, all MPs including Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be present on this occasion. Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi will also be present at the programme. This information was given by the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Kiren Rijiju. The Constitution was adopted by the Constituent Assembly on November 26, 1949 and came into force on January 26, 1950.

Prime Minister will not address the program

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said that during the ceremony at the Central Hall, we will sit in the same room where the Constituent Assembly met and the Constitution was adopted. The Prime Minister will not address the programme, he said. The Parliamentary Affairs Minister accused some opposition parties of reacting without knowing the real system. He, we have made arrangements for the opposition leaders of both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha to sit on the stage.

The Constitution is not printed or typed.

Earlier on Monday, leaders of several opposition parties wrote a letter to the Lok Sabha Speaker urging him to allow the leader of the opposition in both Houses of Parliament, Rahul Gandhi, and the National Congress, Mallikarjun Kharge, to speak during the celebrations that will be organized on Constitution Day. The Assembly met for 11 sessions and 167 days over a period of two years and 11 months to draft the Constitution.

Handwritten and calligraphed constitution in Hindi and English.

The Constitution of India is neither printed nor typed. It is handwritten and calligraphed in both Hindi and English. Each page was decorated by the artists of Santiniketan under the leadership of Nandalal Bose. At the time of its adoption, the Constitution contained 395 articles and 8 schedules and was approximately 145,000 words, making it the longest national constitution ever adopted. It now has 12 lists and has been modified 106 times.
