Development works worth crores of rupees inaugurated in Ludhiana
Ludhiana News (Aaj Samaj), Ludhiana: Cabinet Minister Dr Ravjot Singh said that the state government headed by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is continuously working for the overall development of the state. The projects inaugurated on Monday will bring great relief to the city residents. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government is continuously working for sustainable development and high-quality infrastructure is being established across the state. Providing better sanitation facilities to the city, local government minister Dr Ravjot Singh inaugurated several development projects worth around Rs 120 crore.
Efforts intensify to make the city free of garbage
Projects launched for construction of Lohara bridge on Sidhwan canal and disposal of old waste accumulated at Jamalpur landfill (around 19.62 lakh metric tonnes) and Jainpur site (over 2 lakh metric tonnes) . The estimated cost of these projects is approximately Rs 120 crore. Dr Ravjot Singh along with Ludhiana East MLA Daljit Singh Bhola Grewal and Municipal Corporation Commissioner Aditya Dechalwal inaugurated the project for disposal of approximately 19.62 lakh metric tonnes of waste deposited at Jamalpur main dumping ground on Tajpur Road .

Under this project, which is being prepared at a cost of about Rs 100 million, heaps of garbage will be removed. These piles of waste will be eliminated through a bioremediation process. Cabinet Minister Dr Ravjot Singh and MLA Daljit Singh Bhola Grewal said removal of old garbage will relieve city residents from bad smell. He said that after garbage removal, around 41 acres of Municipal Corporation land will remain vacant and will be used for the welfare of city residents.
