Political unrest has intensified following the incident of violence during the Jama Masjid poll in Sambhal district of Uttar Pradesh. Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi will visit Sambhal, which is scorched by the fire of violence, in a day or two. However, the Samajwadi Party delegation postponed its Sambhal tour today (Tuesday).

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi plans to regain control soon. Imran Masood, Lok Sabha MP from Uttar Pradesh’s Saharanpur, said that he (Rahul Gandhi) will recover tomorrow or the day after. Meanwhile, the scheduled meeting of the Samajwadi Party delegation has been postponed. According to the scheduled program, the SP delegation was to meet today.

But all members of the delegation will now leave for Delhi. The delegation will be organized only after consultation with the party’s national president Akhilesh Yadav in the capital Delhi. New dates have not yet been announced.

Earlier, on the Sambhal tour of the 12-member Samajwadi Party delegation, Mata Prasad Pandey, leader of the opposition in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly and leader of the Samajwadi Party, said: “We will go there to see the atrocities committed by the police . . We will also meet with the families of the young people killed in the incident. Do the police ever take responsibility for their actions? Nowadays the police have both illegal weapons and government weapons. The police use other (illegal) weapons to shoot.”
