A part of the more than 150-year-old Ganges Bridge in Kanpur collapsed this morning. This bridge, which witnessed the freedom struggle, used to connect Kanpur with Lucknow. However, this bridge was closed for traffic by the Kanpur administration four years ago. The Ganga bridge has historical importance, which is why the Municipal Corporation maintained it.
