4 women died in collision between van and truck.
Surendranagar: A case of tragic accident has come to light in Surendranagar district of Gujarat. Here there was a strong collision between a van and a truck. Four women died in this accident, while another 16 people were injured. After the accident, the injured were immediately taken to the hospital, where they are being treated. The bodies of the deceased have been sent for autopsy. The victims are said to have gone to Somnath to perform some religious ritual when the accident occurred.

Police Inspector of local police station IB Walvi said that this incident is said to have occurred around 10.30 pm on Monday night. This accident occurred here near Chotila. He said there were 20 passengers in the van at the time of the accident. Meanwhile, the van collided with a truck and following the collision, two people died on the spot, while two other passengers died in the hospital. He reported that there was a head-on collision between a van and a truck, resulting in four women dying.
The people traveling by van were heading towards Somnath.
The official said the van was heading towards Somnath from Shiyani village of Limbdi taluka of Surendranagar. The truck was coming in the opposite direction. At the time of the incident, the truck was turning right to stop near a roadside hotel. Meanwhile, a van arrived ahead and collided with the truck, causing this accident. The victims were said to have been heading to Somnath in the vehicle to perform ‘Pitra Tarpan’, a religious ritual for their ancestors. The 16 passengers injured in the accident were immediately admitted to Rajkot Civil Hospital, where they are being treated. Furthermore, the deceased have been identified as Magjiben Retharia (72), Galalben Retharia (60), Manjuben Retharia (65) and Gauriben Retharia (68). (entrance-agency)
