A two-member committee of the Union Education Ministry will visit North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) in Ghalay. The committee members, including former University Grants Commission (UGC) chairman DP Singh and former Assam University vice-chancellor Dilip Chandra Nath, held a meeting with students’ union leaders, members of the body teaching and non-teaching staff of the university on Monday, officials said.

NEHU Students’ Union President Lakhon KMA said: “Teachers, students and non-teaching staff met and are satisfied with the committee members. Both committee members listened carefully to the issues raised by them, including the decision by vice-chancellor PS Shukla on The permanent demand for removal from the form was also included.” “Everything we had to say, we have said. Vice Chancellor sent on leave

KMA said that among the issues raised in the meeting with the committee were allegations of irregularities in the process of hiring and promoting employees by the Vice Chancellor. According to information, the vice-chancellor has been sent on leave till November 29 amid the ongoing protests in the university.
