Ayodhya. An awareness program on the issue of fake news and digital literacy was organized at the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism, Avadh University, on Tuesday. Udyansh Pandey, the keynote speaker of this programme, said that today there is a need to understand the basic principles of journalism. Students must develop understanding of the content. For this it will be necessary to expand knowledge. He said that Artificial Intelligence has changed the nature of journalism. This is a challenge before all of us. This must be taken as an opportunity. In the show, Udyansh said that nowadays fake news poses a big challenge to the society and people get confused by such information. To avoid this, it will be necessary to raise awareness among people. He said media students should offer content keeping social responsibilities in mind. Thanks to which society and the nation will be able to take a new direction.
Presiding over the program, MCJ Convenor Dr. Vijayendu Chaturvedi said that today there is a need for society to be technologically updated to meet digital challenges. It is recommended to avoid the spread of misleading and false news on social networks. He said mainstream media outlets are adequately fulfilling their responsibilities. In the programme, Namaskar Foundation Secretary Utkarsh Mishra said that fake news is spreading rapidly in the society. Everyone will have to be aware of this. Spreading unwanted information on social networks should be avoided. Through today’s digital platforms, information is spreading rapidly in society. People are being digitally arrested for this. To do this, you need to be careful with unwanted phone calls and social sites.
In this programme, Purvanchal Yatra coordinator Suraj Gupta said that Purvanchal University-College Yatra was organized in Purvanchal from November 11 to 30. It aims to raise awareness among media students about fake news and digital literacy. He said that Namaskar Foundation is making many significant efforts for the students. This foundation is working to conduct Chanakya internships and scholarships in media institutions for the students. He said students should read newspapers regularly.
