Cold in Delhi and rain in many states

Cold weather has hit many parts of northern India, including Delhi. The first snowfalls of this season have also begun in the mountains. Because of this, the cold has begun to increase in the plains. A significant drop in morning and evening temperatures is observed. A light cold wind has been blowing in Delhi-NCR since Monday night.

Two-day yellow alert in Delhi

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said the minimum temperature in Delhi was recorded at 14 degrees Celsius on Tuesday. This Delhi temperature is 2.7 degrees higher than normal. Yellow alert has been issued for Thursday and Friday (November 28-29) in Delhi-NCR.

Visibility may be reduced due to fog.

Issuing the alert, the Meteorological Department said visibility could be reduced due to dense fog in the coming days. Because of this, the temperature will drop even further in the morning and evening. There are chances that the cold will increase.

Also alert for Himachal, Punjab and Haryana

Apart from Delhi-NCR, IMD said the climate is changing rapidly in different parts of Himachal Pradesh. There is a possibility of dense fog in the morning in Himachal from November 27 to 30. Dense fog is also forecast in Punjab and Haryana for the next three days.

It is raining a lot in these states.

On the other hand, heavy rains are occurring in many parts of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Puducherry and Kerala. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said the deep pressure area over the southwest Bay of Bengal could develop into a cyclonic storm on Wednesday. In the next two days it could cross the coast of Sri Lanka and move towards Tamil Nadu.

At 8.30 am on Tuesday, the meteorological department said the deep depression was centered about 310 kilometers south-east of Trincomalee, 710 kilometers south-southeast of Puducherry and 800 kilometers south-southeast of Chennai.

Cyclonic storm moves towards coastal areas of Tamil Nadu

The IMD said, “It is very likely to continue moving towards the northwest and develop into a cyclonic storm on November 27.” After this, it will cross the coast of Sri Lanka and continue moving towards the coastal area of ​​Tamil Nadu in the next two days.
