Jaishankar is in Italy on a three-day visit to participate in the public relations session of the foreign ministers’ meeting of the G-7 countries. During this time, in an interview with an Italian newspaper, he described the two major conflicts taking place in Russia-Ukraine and West Asia as serious challenges to the international system.

He said that we cannot continue to be mere spectators. We must take the lead in these struggles. It may be difficult, but it is important to try to find common ground. India’s diplomatic efforts are going in this direction. Jaishankar said India has established communication with both Moscow and kyiv.
